About Us

Heather Feher and Alex Galimberti met at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 2007, where they both earned an AOS in Culinary Arts.  They share an interest in traveling and discovering regional, ethnic, and exotic cuisines throughout the world.

Our joint mission is to meet people from all over the world and share our experiences and observations regarding culture, gastronomy, wine, and all the good things that bring people together around a table. At the CIA, we were exposed to a wide variety of cuisine at a very basic level. Through our travels, we hope to gain an in-depth knowledge of regional cuisines at the source, from people who have spent their lives mastering them.

Inspired by writers Michael Pollan and Anthony Bourdain, and documentaries such as Food, INC., we are trying to discover firsthand what we could not possibly learn in school – where our food comes from, and what other cultures truly eat.

(As a side-note, please ignore the dates posted on our entries. The dates posted are when we first encountered/saw/learned about the content of the entry – much research goes into the posts that follow, and we’ve been traveling a lot without constant internet access – so almost all of our entries are backdated. The blog is not stagnant – we’re just posting March’s entries in July. 🙂 )
